RIT, together with WHO, is responsible for designing, implementing and evaluating the training curriculum. The courses are provided with various types of approaches such as lectures, participatory program and tutorial system.  The ongoing training program is compromised of the following courses:

  1. Stop TB Action Course (three months)

  2. TB Laboratory Course (two and a half months)

  3. AIDS Prevention and Care (six weeks)

* The Advanced Course for NTP Managers was previously offered by RIT but is currently suspended.

Domestic Training

One and Only Manpower Development Facility for NTP in Japan

In one year more than 2,000 health staff are trained at RIT.  These staff subsequently work as key personnel for the NTP with new knowledge and techniques obtained at RIT.  New training courses for clinicians, nurses and TB control leaders have been established in recent years to expand the number of people working for the NTP.  The national network established through training is one of the key components of TB control in Japan.
